The answer to how to get views on TikTok is to stop the scroll in the first 3 seconds, then give people a reason to stay to the end. TikTok ranks its For You feed mostly on how viewers react to each video, and whether they finish it or skip it is one of the reactions it predicts.

A video stuck at exactly 0 views is a different problem. TikTok usually hasn’t shown it to anyone yet, because the post is still in review, was made ineligible for the For You feed, lost its sound or isn’t public. Each of those leaves a trace in the app, and the checklist below shows where.

What the TikTok For You feed ranks videos on

TikTok decides who sees a video by predicting how each viewer will react to it. Its transparency page describes a score built from the odds that you’ll like, share, comment on or skip a video, plus whether you’ll finish it and how long you’ll watch. The highest-scoring videos fill your For You feed.

  • Viewer behavior counts most. TikTok’s help center says that for most users, interactions, “which may include the time spent watching a video,” are weighted more heavily than video details or device settings.
  • Finishing is a strong signal. In its 2020 For You explainer, TikTok called watching a longer video from start to end a strong signal. Its example of a weak one was a viewer in the same country as the creator.
  • Followers aren’t a direct factor. The same explainer says neither follower count nor past high-performing videos are direct factors, so a 200-follower account’s next post isn’t locked out.
  • Every upload is moderated first. New videos go through automated systems and human moderators, and only those that pass enter the pool the For You feed picks from.

A video most people swipe past in the first second gives the system little reason to show it to anyone else, whoever posted it.

How to get views on TikTok with a 3-second hook

Open on the most interesting frame you have, because a viewer who swipes in second two never sees the rest. TikTok’s Creator Academy tells creators to hook viewers within the first 3 seconds and to make the very first thing they see stand out.

  • Ask the question the video answers. A home-espresso account with 150 followers opens on “Why your espresso tastes sour” in on-screen text and answers it by second 20.
  • Show the end result first. A thrift-flip account opens on the finished jacket, then cuts back to the $6 original on the rack.
  • Put a clock on it. “3 fixes in 30 seconds” or a visible timer tells viewers exactly what they’re signing up for.
  • Skip the preamble. No logo sting, no “hey guys, so today,” no two seconds of setting the phone down.

Raise completion rate by cutting, not padding

Cut until nothing in the video is skippable. Completion rate, the share of viewers who watch to the end, is the finishing signal from TikTok’s explainer, and TikTok’s editing advice is to snip out the boring parts to help increase watch time. Watch your draft back and remove every pause and every sentence that repeats the one before it.

Length is a real trade-off. TikTok’s help center encourages content longer than one minute, and the Creator Rewards Program only pays on videos over 1 minute. But a 20-second tip stretched to 65 seconds gets finished by fewer people, so go past a minute only when the content fills it.

To find the leak, compare the post’s average watch time in TikTok Studio with its length after two days, once the analytics have caught up. If a 40-second video averages 7 seconds, fix the opening before you touch the ending.

How often to post on TikTok: a schedule you can keep for months

Pick a pace you can hold for months, because TikTok doesn’t prescribe one. Its help center asks for high-quality content on a regular basis, and the Creator Academy leaves the exact cadence to you while saying quality matters more than rushing out daily posts.

Steady posting pays because each video is a separate test. Three posts a week for eight weeks gives you 24 results to compare hooks and lengths across. Fifteen posts in week one and silence after gives you a burst and no pattern.

TikTok’s help pages don’t name a best time to post, but TikTok Studio shows when your own followers are active, in your time zone. Our guide on how to get more followers on TikTok covers picking posting times from that chart.

Pick a niche narrow enough for TikTok to find your audience

Stay on one focused topic long enough for the same kind of viewer to keep liking your posts. TikTok’s Creator Academy tells creators to avoid “general” interest areas because a focused topic is more likely to find a community of fans.

Some of TikTok’s systems predict interests from people with similar tastes. In the help center’s example, one person liked videos 1, 2 and 3, another liked 1 to 5, and so the first may be shown 4 and 5. When your posts share a topic, the people who liked your last video look like the people who’d like your next one.

Narrow doesn’t mean one format forever. “Home espresso for beginners” leaves room for grind fixes, milk steaming, grinders under $100 and cleaning routines. “Coffee” gives nobody a reason to expect your next video.

Why does my TikTok have 0 views? 7 causes to check

A video at exactly 0 views almost always hasn’t been shown to anyone yet, which points to a block or a setting rather than to the video itself. TikTok’s Community Guidelines note that a video with few views hasn’t necessarily broken a rule. Work through these from the top.

Why a TikTok has 0 views, and where to check
CauseWhat TikTok saysWhere to check, what to do
Still in reviewNew uploads go through moderation before they can be recommended.TikTok doesn’t publish how long review takes. If nothing changes, keep going down this list.
Post ineligible for the For You feedThe post stays up and can be found through search or your profile, but isn’t recommended. Examples: reused clips without creative edits, someone else’s watermark, GIF-only clips, follow or like bait, commercial posts without the content disclosure setting.Turn on analytics in TikTok Studio. On the post, tap More insights, then the notification, to read the reason and tap Appeal.
Account ineligible for recommendationIf you repeatedly post content unsuitable for the For You feed, your account and posts won’t appear there and are harder to find in search.Look for an “Ineligible for recommendation” notice under your username or in Inbox. Review the flagged videos and appeal.
Sound removedSounds that break copyright or TikTok’s guidelines get removed, which leaves the video muted.Open the video and tap View details to see why, then Change sound, or appeal.
Private account or private postOn a private account, only people you approve can watch. Each post can also be set to Everyone, Friends or Only you.Settings and privacy → Privacy → Private account. For one post: More options (…) → Privacy settings.
Account under 16Content from accounts under 16 isn’t eligible for the For You feed, and accounts aged 13 to 17 start out private.Switching to public lets more people view the posts, but under-16 posts still won’t be recommended.
Guideline strike or restrictionRemoved posts bring a warning or a strike, and some violations restrict posting. Strikes expire after 90 days.TikTok Studio → More tools → Account check shows posting, commenting and other restrictions.
If the 0 shows in TikTok Studio while your profile grid shows plays, it’s probably lag. TikTok says analytics data can take 1 to 2 days to update.

If every row checks out and the count is moving, just slowly, go back to the hook and the edit. A post stuck in the low double digits usually has a watch-time problem, not a block.

What bought TikTok views can and can’t fix

Bought views can make an eligible post look less empty. They can’t fix any of the seven causes above, so clear those first.

The first hour is where looks matter. View counts show on every thumbnail in your profile grid, and like counts sit beside each video in the feed. Someone who taps through from your best post and sees the newest one at 12 views has judged it before it plays.

When you buy TikTok views on Socialbot, they start within 15 minutes and arrive at up to 100,000 a day, with a 30-day top-up. TikTok likes start within 1 hour at up to 50,000 a day, also with a 30-day top-up. You paste the video link, and we never ask for a password or login.

What they can’t tell you is whether the video works, so judge a post by its average watch time, not the total. They won’t add to Creator Rewards payouts either, because TikTok excludes paid views from qualified views (how much TikTok pays has the details).

Buying views isn’t illegal, but it breaks TikTok’s rules on inauthentic engagement. The realistic outcome is that TikTok strips out some of the views it flags, and action against the account itself is rare but possible. We pace delivery rather than dumping it all at once, and we can’t promise every view will stay.

To try both, the $4 TikTok trial runs for 12 hours with 2,000 views and 200 likes. On our TikTok plans and prices, Starter weekly ($9.99) includes 10,000 views and 1,000 likes a week. With Auto-Start, Socialbot checks for new posts every 5 minutes and sends your set amount to each one (how Auto-Start works).

Questions about getting more TikTok views

How long does it take for a TikTok video to get views?
TikTok doesn’t publish a timeline. A new upload has to pass moderation before it can be recommended, and after that, views depend on how the first viewers react. If the count is still at 0 the next day, run through the seven causes above.
Do hashtags still help get views on TikTok?
Yes, as labels rather than boosters. TikTok lists hashtags among the video information it uses for both the For You feed and search. Two or three that name the topic give search something to match; a generic tag gives it nothing specific.
Should I delete a TikTok with 0 views and repost it?
Not until you know why it stalled. If the post is ineligible, the same file will likely hit the same rule, and TikTok says it doesn’t recommend duplicated content. Deleting also doesn’t remove a strike, so fix the cause (swap a removed sound, or make the post public) and upload a revised version.
Does switching my TikTok to private and back reset my views?
No. TikTok says a post’s view count reflects all views to date and doesn’t reset when you change its privacy settings. What private changes is who can watch: only people you approve.
Does buying views on TikTok get you likes?
Not by itself. Buying views adds views, and likes are a separate service, so the like count only moves if people who find the post choose to like it. Every Socialbot TikTok plan includes both, at 10 views per like (Pro weekly has 30,000 views and 3,000 likes).
